The Lancashire Witches

The story of the Lancashire Witches, sometimes referred to as the Pendle Witches, is one of the most infamous in the history of Lancashire. It dates from 1612, when the trial of the witches took place at Lancaster Castle and resulted in the hanging of nine people from the Pendle area for the crime of witchcraft.
